Studio Markus Bergström is a design practice engaged in developing furniture and spaces for specific contexts and situations with focus on local requirements, materials and ways of production. The studio is located in Gothenburg, Sweden, and operates together with a network of people and colleagues in Scandinavia and beyond.
Whilst being practice led, working with public as well as private projects, the studio is also a platform for academic involvement at institutions such as Central Saint Martins, The Cass School of Architecture and Goldsmiths University.
Markus Bergström trained in product design at Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and later at The Royal College of Art, London, graduating in 2006 (MFA). He holds a permanent teaching position at HDK, Academy of Design and Crafts, Gothenburg University, where he runs the course Between Design and Architecture alongside his design practice.
